Join Ria Van Weerdhuizen at the Community Food Co-Op Connections Classroom: Bakery Building at 405 E. Holly Street, Suite 103 on Monday, July 1st from 6-7pm for an interactive workshop discussing the strategies and concepts in David Allen's "Getting Things Done," our second quarter Book Club book!

Ria strives to connect people with resources in whatever capacity she operates. This includes her roles as Branch Manager of the Peoples Bank in Fairhaven, President of the Historic Fairhaven Association, and Fairhaven Festival Committee Member. Learning and implementing the Getting Things Done system by David Allen has allowed Ria to manage many moving pieces in her professional and volunteer work.

Ria is excited to share examples of how she utilizes the system in OneNote and her Bullet Journal. She will also share how she has engaged in different parts of the system over the years and what she has found most valuable when open loops become overwhelming. This will be an interactive presentation where attendees will be able to personally engage with the system.

A few of Ria’s favorite David Allen quotes:

  • “You can do anything, but not everything.”
  • “Much of the stress that people feel doesn't come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they've started.”
  • “It's hard to be fully creative without structure and constraint. Try to paint without a canvas. Creativity and freedom are two sides of the same coin. I like the best of both worlds. Want freedom? Get organized. Want to get organized? Get creative.”

Registration: FREE for pre-registered WYPs members/$5 at the door. $10 for pre-registered non-WYPs members/$15 at the door. Pre-registration ends at midnight on Sunday, June 30.
